Current feature & rollout status

A living matrix of generally available, limited-rollout, experimental, and deprecated features.

GSC UI required Beginner

Search Console does not have one universal feature set. The selected property type, its data volume, the user's permission, the site's eligibility, and Google's rollout cohort can all change what appears in the interface. Absence from one property is therefore not proof that a documented feature has been withdrawn.

This page records the status confirmed in Google's public documentation on July 18, 2026. Rollout-sensitive features should be checked again before publishing instructions, promising access to a user, or treating a missing report as an error.

How to read the status labels

  • General availability: documented as a current feature without an active rollout restriction. A report can still be conditional on permissions or having qualifying data.
  • General availability for eligible properties: rollout is complete for the population Google defines as eligible, but not every property qualifies.
  • Gradual or limited rollout: Google explicitly says that access is still expanding or limited to a subset.
  • Experimental: Google describes the feature as an experiment. Its behavior, scope, and availability can change.
  • Legacy: still linked from Search Console documentation, but not integrated into the current interface and without a full replacement.
  • Deprecated: removed or scheduled for removal. Historical data, API fields, or older screenshots can persist after the feature itself stops being supported.

Current website-property features

Feature Status on July 18, 2026 Eligibility and important limits
Domain and URL-prefix website properties General availability Domain properties require DNS verification. URL-prefix properties cover only the exact protocol and prefix supplied.
Search results Performance report General availability Data is subject to privacy filtering, top-row limits, canonical attribution, and property eligibility.
24-hour Performance view General availability Available for Search results, Discover, and Google News Performance reports. It uses hourly, preliminary data and displays time in the browser's local time zone.
Daily, weekly, and monthly Performance granularity General availability Hourly granularity is limited to the 24-hour view. Other daily dates use Pacific Time.
Page Indexing, URL Inspection, Sitemaps, and Links General availability Report contents vary by property and data. Crawl Stats is available only for root-level properties.
Discover and Google News Performance reports General availability when eligible The reports appear only after the property has sufficient qualifying data on the corresponding surface.
Core Web Vitals and HTTPS reports General availability when data exists Core Web Vitals depends on sufficient CrUX field data. Reports can be absent or show limited URL groups.
Rich-result, shopping, and video reports General availability when applicable A report normally appears only when Google detects the supported item type or the property meets the product-specific requirements.
Recommendations Available conditionally Recommendations appear in Overview only when Google has something it considers actionable. They are optional, recalculated regularly, and may expire or change.
System and custom annotations General availability Owners and full users can add or delete custom annotations; restricted users can view them. A property can have 200, notes are limited to 120 characters, and annotations older than 500 days are deleted. They do not appear in comparison or 24-hour views.

The Reports at a glance page is the best official inventory for the stable interface. A report missing from a property often means “not applicable” or “not enough data,” not “not launched.”

Rollout-sensitive and AI-assisted features

Feature Status on July 18, 2026 Who can see it and what it actually does
Integrated Search Console Insights Gradual rollout Google's current help page still says the report is being introduced gradually. It summarizes Web Search clicks and impressions, top and trending content and queries, countries, branded traffic, and additional sources when available.
Query groups in Insights Limited eligibility Available within Insights for properties with a significant volume of query data. AI groups similar queries; group membership and names can evolve and do not affect ranking.
Branded/non-branded Performance filter General availability for eligible sites Google updated the launch notice on March 11, 2026 to say it was available to all eligible sites. It requires a top-level property and sufficient query and impression signals. AI-assisted classification can be wrong.
Branded/non-branded Insights card General availability for eligible sites Subject to the same top-level-property and data-volume constraints as the Performance filter.
AI-powered Performance configuration Experimental, limited rollout Converts natural-language requests into Search results Performance filters, comparisons, and metric selections. It does not analyze the result, sort the table, export data, or work in Discover and News reports. Generated settings must be reviewed.
Social-channel insights attached to a website Experimental, limited rollout Search Console identifies associated channels automatically. Users cannot currently choose or add an arbitrary channel. It measures the channel's visibility on Google, not activity inside the social platform.
Generative AI Performance reports Limited to a subset of sites Dedicated Search and Discover reports show impressions in supported generative-AI features. The Search report covers AI Overviews and AI Mode and groups by page, country, device, and date. It does not expose queries, clicks, CTR, average position, or which passage was cited. Search Labs experiments are excluded.
Platform properties for Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube Gradual rollout Announced July 7, 2026 and rolling out over the following weeks. Each account or channel is a separate property verified through a platform connection. Reports measure discovery through Google Search and, where applicable, Discover or News—not native-platform views.

For the underlying restrictions, see the official documentation for Insights, generative AI reporting, platform properties, and AI-powered configuration.

Legacy and deprecated status

Google's current report inventory still places Data Highlighter and Web Tools under “Legacy tools and reports.” That means they are still reachable but have not been rebuilt as full current-interface features. Do not label them generally available current reports, and do not label them removed while Google continues to link to them.

Removed reports and tools—including the URL Parameters tool, International Targeting report, Mobile Usability report, Mobile-Friendly Test, and several obsolete structured-data reports—are mapped to their present alternatives in Deprecated reports & replaced tools.

How to verify availability for a property

  1. Select the exact property the user intends to analyze. A Domain property, root URL-prefix property, path property, and platform property can expose different options.
  2. Confirm the user's permission under Settings → Users and permissions. Some settings require an owner or full user.
  3. Check whether the report requires qualifying data. Discover, News, Core Web Vitals, rich-result, video, branded-query, and query-group features are all data-dependent.
  4. Check Google's current help page for an explicit rollout or experiment note.
  5. Check the announcement's update block. Google sometimes records completed rollout there rather than rewriting the original announcement.
  6. If an expected report is still absent, compare another eligible property or account before diagnosing a property error.

Do not use a third-party screenshot as proof of eligibility. It proves only that the feature existed for that author's property and capture date.

What this page cannot prove

Public documentation cannot identify the exact rollout cohort for a specific account, predict when access will arrive, or guarantee that Google's interface has not changed since the last verification. Search Console's public API also does not expose most UI-feature entitlements.

This status must therefore be combined with a current UI check for the property in question. SearchConsole.ai can inspect supported Search Console data, but it cannot enable an experiment or make a UI-only report appear.

Maintenance rule

Review this page at least every 60 days and immediately after a Search Console announcement. For each change, record the effective date separately from the announcement date, update the relevant article, and preserve important historical behavior in the Search Console release timeline.

Screenshot status: no product screenshots are embedded because rollout-sensitive interfaces can differ by property. Any future screenshot should display its capture date and use non-sensitive demonstration data.
